Before forming Saw Mill, Howard was a founding partner of Chase Capital, Chase Manhattan Bank’s private equity investing group, which specialized in middle-market acquisitions, recapitalizations and growth investments. Prior to forming Chase Capital, Howard was a Managing Director in Chase’s Merchant Banking Group. Howard’s professional career began in 1983 with the Leveraged Capital Group of Citibank. He has a B.S. degree in Accounting from Binghamton University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
Howard is a presidentially appointed Council Member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and a member of the Committee on Conscience, fighting for the prevention of modern genocide.
Howard is on the board of The Binghamton University Foundation and created The Saw Mill Capital Opportunity Business Scholarship which provides full scholarship to support underrepresented students at Binghamton University.
Howard is married and has three children, all of whom he enjoys skiing with. One of his other passions is wine. He has learned not to combine the two.
