While the flooring industry has several public companies that are well-tracked, data and information regarding molding and related products are scant. Furthermore, a complex value chain with a web of stakeholder relationships that are constantly changing complicates the ability to monitor company performance relative to the market.
Crafting the Solution
Working with Versatrim, we developed a list of public companies to track, benchmarking their market performance in flooring against Versatrim’s internal performance to develop insights into market share gain. In conjunction, we follow various leading indicators and market drivers—from outlook on residential remodeling spend to existing and new home sales—to help forecast market changes. Finally, we conducted a survey among various value chain stakeholders to understand key selection criteria for a molding supplier, relative performance on the criteria in comparison to competitors, and changes in sales channel dynamics to gauge the health of our channel position and sales strategy.
